Silent Boat Rally
Saturday August 3, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

The Silent Boat Rally is for kayaks, canoes and paddle boards. Join us for a chance to paddle the beautiful winding Oxtongue river, explore small bays and meanders along the way. We will launch our crafts below Marsh's Falls and paddle down the Lower Oxtongue River to Lake of Bays and then return to the Falls. Participants will learn about the plants and animals that can be seen on the river. This is 8 kilometres of easy paddling in protected waters followed by a light lunch.

This rally is a joint venture of the Lake of Bays Heritage Foundation (LBHF) and Lake of Bays Association. Cost $20 per person.
You can register by emailing LBHF at registration@lakeofbaysheritage.ca

Propane program

We are pleased that Superior Propane and Grant Energy are continuing to offer our members reduced pricing on propane for home and cottage heating and standby generators.

LOBA has again negotiated group rates with our two partner suppliers for the upcoming year. We are pleased that Superior Propane and Grant Energy are continuing to offer our members reduced pricing on propane for home and cottage heating and standby generators.

The negotiated rates are down from last year, even when factoring in the carbon tax. Superior Propane is requiring that the paperwork to initiate a switch be in their office by August 30. Grant Energy requires commitments by that date also.

This past season, one member saved over $3,000 compared to what it would have cost had he not joined the program.

Both companies offer remote tank monitoring technology, a key benefit for those members who do not have someone checking their place regularly.

In order to streamline the process, all members who have previously asked LOBA to provide details, or given LOBA permission to disclose contact details to a propane supplier could be contacted by the supplier directly.

Summer is the best time to switch suppliers, as tank replacement & access is easier. Time is of the essence. Contact Fraser Govan at 705 767-3692 for further information or to initiate a switch to one of our partners.
