Join us for the PreK-12 School Choice Fair on Saturday, Dec. 9, from 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Saint Paul RiverCentre. This is a great opportunity for families who will be applying to schools for the 2024-25 school year to meet the staff and learn more about our schools, programs and services. Learn more at spps.org/apply.
Superintendent Joe Gothard will host a live virtual meeting on Monday, December 4, at 5:30 p.m. Topics will include SPPS Achieves and the American Rescue Plan, the SPPS budget, and community values gathered over the past several months. Attendees will also have the opportunity to ask questions. To attend the meeting, visit spps.eduvision.tv/LiveSched.aspx at the meeting time.
SPPS has been engaging with families, students and staff about what they value in education through community engagement sessions and surveys throughout 2023. Feedback gathered will be used to help inform budget decisions for the 2024-25 school year. Please visit spps.org/fy25budget to view a summary of what we heard from you and to share your feedback.
In the upcoming months, Saint Paul Public Schools will begin providing menstrual products at no cost to students. These products will be available in restrooms regularly used by students in grades 4 to 12. This new offering is in response to a new law passed by the Minnesota legislature to improve access to menstrual products for students.
Families are invited to a free community viewing of the award-winning documentary “The Right to Read”. The film shares stories about the importance of literacy and how reading helps students succeed in school and life. Movie nights will be held on Dec. 7 at Humboldt High School and Dec. 12 at Central High School. For more information and to register to attend, visit spps.org/righttoread.
