Summer meals are available at NO COST to kids 18 and under, and those over 18 with a disability enrolled in a school program. Meals will be served at parks and community spaces starting June 17. The SPPS food truck will also make the rounds starting June 20. For more information and locations, visit spps.org/summermeals.
This summer, encourage your students to read frequently and for fun. There are many opportunities to access free books and summer learning programs. Visit the SPPS Virtual Library for more information.
High school students who need to earn credits in the summer can enroll in SPPS’s experiential credit recovery program. This innovative summer program allows students to earn credits in science, math and language arts through unique classes including welding, art history and culinary arts. Students can contact their school counselor to register.
Families can find final elementary school progress reports and secondary report cards in Infinite Campus after June 13. For support with your Campus username and password, visit spps.org/families.
The SPPS Board of Education will continue the superintendent search over the summer, including hiring an executive search firm that will partner with the district to hire the next full-time superintendent. Dr. John Thein will continue to serve as interim superintendent throughout the search. Updates will be posted on spps.org/superintendentsearch.
