Speaker Pro Tempore 18th District
Sumner, Trousdale & Part of Davidson Counties
Back at the Capitol
Pursuant to Senate Joint Resolution No. 771, the Second Annual Session of the One Hundred Twelfth General Assembly of the State of Tennessee convened at noon on Tuesday, January 11th.

I will continue my work in policy focused on foster care and adoption, education, and healthcare. This year, I have also been hard at work with redistricting and bail reform.

I am honored to continue to serve District 18, and I look forward to a great session!

This week, our office had the opportunity to meet with Tennessee Donor Services' Executive Director Jill Grandas and Associate Executive Director Deana Clapper. During our meeting. we discussed TDS' second consecutive record-breaking year in organ donation and transplantation. I am grateful for the hard work of all of those at TDS, and I am especially grateful for the generosity of Tennessee's donor heroes. Thanks to you, more lives were saved by the gift of organ donation than ever before.
This week, Senate and Congressional maps passed out of Senate subcommittee. Next, the maps will be heard in the Judicial committee and onto the Senate Floor. I am pleased to retain all of Sumner and Trousdale counties.
Final Day of Emissions Testing
As many of you know, the vehicle emissions testing program ended in many counties, including Sumner County, on Friday, January 14. The last day for testing was January 13. The end of this program is a testament to the diligence of Tennesseans to improve our state's air quality!

Meet our new Assistant
We are excited to announce that we have added a new member to our team. Jinny Crawford joined our office mid-December following her graduation from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. Last session, she had the opportunity to intern through the Tennessee Legislative Internship Program, and she is thrilled to be returning to serve the State of Tennessee, and the residents of District 18.

We are so proud of our previous assistant Kati. She has moved across the hall to work as the Research Analyst for the Senate Judiciary committee.
Constituent Spotlight
We want to spotlight a different member of our community each week. Do you know someone in the 18th District who has done something extraordinary recently? Send us an email (sen.ferrell.haile@capitol.tn.gov), with subject line "Constituent Spotlight Submission" and tell us about them. We will read through each submission and decide on one person to highlight in our newsletter each week.
