2019 Hollywood Build Shines the Spotlight on Affordable Housing
Thank you to everyone who made our 2019 Hollywood Build, presented by City National Bank , an unforgettable event!

During the 2-day event, over 300 volunteers helped build our newest homes in Culver City, completed incredible playhouses, and raised nearly $300,000 and awareness to address the need for affordable housing in the greater LA area.

Habitat LA Officially Launches First National Campaign: Cost of Home
On Wednesday June 12, Habitat for Humanity of Greater Los Angeles (Habitat LA) joined Habitat organizations across the country to launch a new national advocacy campaign, Cost of Home, aimed at improving home affordability for 10 million people in the U.S. over the next five years.
 
Home Builders Blitz Completes Four Homes in Two Weeks
Last month, Habitat LA celebrated the completion of its first-ever Home Builders Blitz with ribbon-cutting ceremonies for four new houses in Los Angeles. Each of the Habitat homes were adopted by a different professional construction company: Clark Construction, The Gilbane Building Company, Turner Construction, and The Whiting-Turner Contracting Company. Each of the builders donated time and money to complete the houses from the ground up in just two weeks. 

Habitat LA Opens Ecommerce Site On Ebay
Habitat for Humanity of Greater Los Angeles (Habitat LA) opened a platform on eBay on April 5th . The online presence will allow us to reach a larger audience of consumers in addition to our three brick and mortar ReStore locations in Bellflower, Los Angeles and Torrance.

Lolita Pizarro is Our June Volunteer of the Month
Lolita Pizarro recently celebrated her 10 year anniversary of volunteering in our offices. She started working in the Volunteer Services department on March 17, 2009: “I remember the date because I had to enter it into the computer,” she said.
