Meet Coach Natalie
Tell us about Yourself
I am from Seattle and grew played for Emerald City FC where I really developed my passion for goalkeeping. I studied Communications, Business, and Law and played Division III soccer at Pacific Lutheran University. After college, I played briefly in Spain, and Norway and then had a drive to get into coaching. I started at other youth clubs in the area until I found a home at ECFC. I now focus on goalkeeping with Alex and coach JV soccer at Lakeside High School.
What inspired you to get into coaching?
Soccer has always been a constant and a love of mine, after so many years of playing I realized that I wanted to learn to love the game in a different way and give that same positive experience to players. Seeing the kids develop and have moments of confidence after working time and time again on something they are struggling with makes the coaching journey all worth the smiles on their faces.
What is your role at ECFC and what does it entail?
I support Alex and the other coaches with developing our club goalkeepers. We have goalkeeper trainings and I also pull some of the goalkeepers away during their team trainings to get some age specific training in.
Why do you coach at ECFC?
I coach at ECFC because we truly have a deep sense of community. The coaches are incredibly supportive of each other and coach skill development which ultimately serves the kids and families in player development and supporting them in achieving their goals.
What is a fun fact about yourself?
I learned how to pole vault my senior year of college after soccer ended and I needed a new athletic outlet. Pole vaulting is incredibly fun and difficult at the same item!
