Is Employment At- Will At-Risk?
Last year Indiana's highest Court ruled in favor of the employer when an at-will employee sued alleging he was fired in violation of public policy.
Lat month, a Massachusetts Appeals Court also found in favor of an employer when its employee sued after being fired the same day he filed a challenge to his performance improvement plan.
Now, New York City is poised to effectively abolish at-will employment for certain employees working in the fast-food industry. Concurrently, civil and political organizations are urging legislators to enact broader laws abolishing at-will employment.
