HOPE WALKS HERE
Mental health conditions will touch 1 in 4 of us during our lives, yet these illnesses often go untreated, with someone attempting suicide every minute in the U.S.
Become part of the movement to bring mental health conditions, such as depression and anxiety, out of the darkness by participating in the Out of the Darkness Campus Walk on Saturday, March 16 at 9:30 a.m. in the Graham Center (GC) Pit!
The Out of the Darkness Campus Walks are the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention's (AFSP) signature student fundraising series, strategically crafted to involve youth and young adults in the battle against suicide.
Secure your participation by registering online or onsite at 9:30 a.m. in the GC Pit on the day of the walk. There is no registration fee required for this event.
Donations can be submitted online. If you prefer mailing your donation, please complete the Offline Donation Form, which includes the mailing address.

FIU Embrace Education is currently seeking job shadowing opportunities for our students!
FIU Embrace Education is a three-year, non-degree, certificate inclusive, post-secondary, transition program for students with Intellectual Disabilities and/or autism. One of the goals of the program is to promote competitive and integrated employment.
The program has established integrated work-based learning opportunities that allow students to continuously build and practice hard and soft skills in an organization.
As one of their many supports, students receive a Job Coach who matches the students to shadowing and internship sites based on their experiences, goals, interests, and skills.

FIU Libraries invites you to the upcoming Fireside Chat, Notre Histoire, on Thursday, February 15 from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Hubert Library, Biscayne Bay Campus.
This event will feature the author of "Notre Histoire," Ghislain Gouraige Jr., where he will provide his unique perspective on Haiti's first century as an independent nation.
This not-often-told story sheds light on the sacrifices made for Haiti's hard-won independence, overcoming international isolation, persecution, and hostility.
Attendees are encouraged to stick around after for the powerful spoken word performance by the esteemed actor, activist, and educator Mecca "Grimo" Marcelin, who will be dressed as Toussaint L'Ouverture, famously known as the "Black Spartacus."
