  • During the month of February, items may be dropped off at the Division of Human Resources, Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Primera Casa (PC) 224, Modesto A. Maidique Campus, or at the Hubert Library (HL) 320, Biscayne Bay Campus.

The Berta D. Villares Book Scholarship Award is now open and accepting applications. This scholarship provides eligible faculty and staff, who are currently using the FIU Tuition Waiver, with a one-time $75 cash award based on established criteria and available funding.


Be sure to take advantage of this award as it could help offset the expenses associated with the purchase of required course textbooks!


Check out the eligibility requirements and submit your application no later than Friday, March 15.

This thoughtfully curated program aims to help faculty members learn simple, easy and fun activities to help you feel more grounded, energetic and resilient.


Participants will have the opportunity after the workshop to join fellow faculty in a 28-day challenge!

Grab your walking shoes and a partner for the 20th Annual Relay For Life Walk and dinner reception, where we celebrate those who are currently battling cancer and cancer survivors!


FIU Relay for Life is tied to the American Cancer Society (ACS), which works on raising funds and awareness for cancer research. They also provide services to cancer patients and families such as transportation, lodging, and more.


If you would like to get involved, here are some ways to support our cause on Friday, March 15, 2024:


  • Survivorship: Are you or a loved one a survivor? Let us celebrate you with a free dinner at our Relay of Life event!
  • Start or Join a team: We accept all inside and outside the FIU community. Once you join our relay, you can fundraise throughout the year up to the event. All proceeds go to ACS!

Join your fellow Panthers for the weekly gatherings of Walking with Friends taking place every Wednesday from 5:15 to 6 p.m. at the Wolfe University Center Panther Square, Biscayne Bay Campus.


All faculty and staff are welcome to be a part of this fitness club, offering the chance to walk, jog, or run along our scenic Biscayne Bay Campus, helping you achieve your daily fitness goals. Start off your work week feeling calm and collected by tuning into virtual Mindful Mondays sessions, taking place every first and third Monday of the month.


In compact, 30-minute lunchtime sessions, Mindful Mondays offer a space for cultivating presence, awareness and resilience in the face of life's challenges. The program also includes a guided meditation and a Q&A.


While virtually meditating with others, these sessions aim to build a sense of community while providing you with helpful takeaways that you can apply to both work and personal life.
