HOPE Has Been Signed!
THANK YOU For Contacting the Governor!
Greetings!

We just received word that Governor Edwards signed HB 578, our Abortion Pill Reversal Disclosure Act, into law!

THANK YOU for calling & emailing the Governor! I can assure you that it made a difference.

Nearly 3,000 women a year in Louisiana have a chemical abortion. Now, these women will receive information in the abortion facility that may help them reverse their abortions and save their babies.

But we aren't done!

Starting next week, our billboards (image below) will go up for two months close to the abortion facilities in New Orleans, Baton Rouge, and Shreveport informing women that they can reverse their abortions. These billboards, and other ads we hope to put out, will supplement the information in the facilities.
Our mission is to make sure EVERY woman taking a chemical abortion knows beyond a shadow of a doubt that if she regrets her decision there is HOPE! If you'd like to support this effort, you can make a donation today!

Thanks again for defending life, and have a wonderful 4th of July Weekend!

For a Pro-Life Louisiana,
Benjamin Clapper

Signing of Abortion Pill Reversal Disclosure Act Completes Successful Pro-Life Session
Gov. John Bel Edwards announced today he had signed HB 578, the Abortion Pill Reversal Disclosure Act, completing a successful Legislative session for the pro-life movement in Louisiana! Your legislators worked with us during the 2021 Legislative Session to continue to light the way toward mothers choosing life and for their babies to be protected by law and welcomed with love. In the end, the governor signed seven of the eight bills Louisiana Right to Life sponsored or closely watched. The lone bill that was not passed, the Protection of Disabled from Forced Abortion and Sterilization Act, was turned into a study resolution for clarification for future legislation.

The Proudly Pro-Life Gala will return to an in-person event in 2022! The event is set for Jan. 15 at the Hyatt Regency New Orleans. State Sen. The seventh Chers Bébés: Acadiana's Soirée for Life, is scheduled for Thursday, Oct. 21, at Cathedral Hall in Lafayette. Last year's event had to be cancelled due to COVID restrictions, but this year the event will be back better than ever! Will you become a patron for the event as we honor Sharon Fontenot and Dr. Kim and Bonnie Hardey?
The Hyde Amendment was first added to appropriations bill in 1976 to prohibit federal funds from paying for elective abortions. It has held firm until now, but President Biden is eliminating it from his budget. Please join the #SaveMyHyde effort to make it clear to our leaders that the Hyde Amendment must remain.
Attorney General Jeff Landry recently joined 21 other state attorneys general urging Congress to maintain the Hyde Amendment. "Despite his decades-long opposition to taxpayer-funded abortions, Joe Biden has removed such protection from his recently proposed budget," said Attorney General Landry.
A three-judge federal court of appeals panel has unanimously upheld the dismissal of Equal Means Equal v. Ferriero, one of two ongoing lawsuits that claim the federal Equal Rights Amendment (ERA) has been ratified and is part of the U.S. Constitution. The ruling continues a 40-year losing streak by advocates of the ERA-is-alive cult in the federal courts.
Liliana Pagán, center, is the 2021 Louisiana State Oratory Contest winner and competed against other state winners last week at the National Right to Life Convention outside Washington, D.C. She is shown with LARTL staffers Kandace Landreneau, Ashley Guilliam, Sarah Zagorski, and Benjamin Clapper at the convention.
Each year, Louisiana and New Orleans Right to Life produce a "Right to Life Calendar" filled with photos of babies from Louisiana showcasing the beauty of life. Submissions are needed for the 2022 calendar! Can you help us by sending a high resolution photo of your child or grandchild? The deadline has been extended, as a few more photos are needed! Please get your photos in today!
