Let Us Help You Carry Your Groceries to Your Car
The Market provides a Veggie Valet service to help customers carry bags and melons (when they are in season) back to their cars. Please go the HLFM Information Tent if you need some help getting your bags to your car.
HLFM Wednesday Market Now Open!
Our Wednesday Market at Crooked Hammock Brewery at Kings Highway is open every Wednesday, 8 to 11 am, through the end of August.
Win a Classic Cruiser Bike at the Market!
We continue our tradition of holding an Annual Bike Raffle. This year we are giving away a bike that really celebrates the summer season--a 2017 Sun Revolutions 26" single-speed classic cruiser. This peach-colored bike has a very cushy saddle, and we've added a white basket for all that fresh produce, white streamers, and a classic bugle horn to announce that you have ARRIVED at market.

Tickets for the raffle are free, and the winner is drawn on Labor Day Weekend. In order to enter the contest all you need to do is fill out a ticket (allows you to get this newsletter) at the HLFM Information Tent. You can enter every Saturday you come to the market, so come often and your chances of winning get better.

If you just cannot wait for the drawing you can also purchase this beauty from Seagreen Bicycle, 209 Monroe Avenue, Lewes, DE.
In case of inclement weather, the Market moves to Shields Elementary School Parking Lot

SNAP and WIC at the Market

The Market offers the SNAP (EBT Food Stamps) program at the Market. To help lower economic barriers to local, healthy food, the HLFM matches up to $20 each participant each week with HLFM Bonus Bucks. SNAP participants are encouraged to come to the SNAP tent at the Market to pick up the bonus $20.

In addition to SNAP, the Historic Lewes Farmers Market welcomes participants in Delaware's Women, Infants and Children (WIC) program. WIC coupons can now be used to purchase fresh fruits and vegetables at the Market.

Market calendar magnets, aprons and re-usable shopping bags
Available at the Market Information Table.  You can also sign up to receive our enews and indicate your interest  in volunteering!
What's so special about the Historic Lewes Farmers Market!
Our gleaning program! At the end of each market, we "glean" (gather) produce and baked goods from our vendors to donate to the Casa San Francisco soup kitchen and emergency pantry in Milton, DE. Nothing goes to waste, and fresh, local food goes to that part of our community that needs a little help.
And, don't forget!
August 5--Tomato Festival!

August 12-- Beebe Hospital Day with screenings, healthy eating demo, and more.

Throughout the season, look for Market Pairings of different vendor's produce, and watch this newsletter to find out more about the pairings.
Our weekly market e-news will let you know more information about our farmers and producers this season, tell you what new foods are coming to market and allow us to share seasonal recipes. Thanks for shopping at HLFM!
