Health benefits claims paid out to support mental health rose 24% in 2020: CLHIA This time period, which included the first nine months of the coronavirus pandemic, included $420 million paid out for psychology-related claims to support mental health, up 24 per cent since 2019. It also included $154 million for individual and group life insurance claims from deaths related to the virus and an additional $150 million for disability claims above what was projected for 2020 to support workers while they recovered.

CHAMBERS PLAN UPDATE Did You Know? ContinYou™ Added to Personal Benefits  For many people, leaving their job means leaving their group benefit coverage behind. ContinYou allows plan members to easily transition from their previous Johnston Group plan coverage to individual health and dental coverage.    As of November 10th, ContinYou is available to all qualifying certificate holders under the Personal Benefits banner. Also,effective January 1, 2022, all ContinYou applications must be made online using my-benefits®. Paper applications are being eliminated as part of a strategy to reduce environmental footprint.    The Personal Benefits program also currently offers Johnston Group Retiree Plans and Personal Life Insurance.
