How to look after your business and your people during leaves
Let’s face it—employee leaves and absences are hard. Whether your company has hundreds of employees, you manage a small business with a tightknit team or are the one going on leave, each situation comes with its own set of challenges.
And while it comes in many forms—sick leavematernity/parental leave or another type of absence—this is a likely occurrence in the lifespan of your business that you should prepare for.

It is very important to have a Continuation of Benefits policy in place so that it’s clear to all parties how long health and dental benefits continue in the event there is a medical leave.
What is Critical Illness Insurance?
Critical illness insurance can provide the funds and the means to preserve your quality of life, protect personal assets and allow the freedom and flexibility to choose the kind of health care you want.
Why is Critical Illness Insurance important to you and your family?
Research has shown that a significant number of Canadians will face the challenge of critical illness:
• Nearly 1 in 2 Canadians is expected to be diagnosed with cancer at some point during their lifetime.
• On average, 3,965 Canadians will be diagnosed with cancer every week.
• There are an estimated 70,000 heart attacks each year in Canada; one every 7 minutes.
• Statistically, you're more likely to suffer from a critical illness than you are to die before the age of 75.

Canadian Dental Care Plan
The CDCP is a federally delivered public plan that will help ease financial barriers to accessing oral health care for up to nine million uninsured Canadian residents.
Remember: those who have access to coverage through their employer (which still applies even if they have opted out because of coverage elsewhere), individual, school, or other, are not eligible for CDCP coverage.
The CDCP isn’t intended to be a replacement for existing dental care coverage offered through employer sponsored, pension-sponsored, or private plans. It was designed to provide care for uninsured Canadians who have an annual net family income of less than $90,000.

Do you qualify
To qualify for the Canadian Dental Care Plan (CDCP), you must meet all the eligibility criteria.
