Help DCS Fight the "Drillie" Lawsuit Against the DRBC

The Wayne Land and Mineral Group (spokesperson: C. Cocco drilli) is in court claiming the DRBC does not have authority over gas well pad operations because they are not "projects". They want to bring fracking to the Delaware River Basin, despite the known health risks (see Amish and PA Doctors below).

DCS will be there to oppose them, having filed a motion to intervene in support of the DRBC.

We will also be at DRBC meetings in Trenton, urging the DRBC to BAN fracking in the Basin.

Your support helps DCS fight the legal and political battle to keep fracking out of the Basin.
From the Union of Concerned Scientists:
"After one of the most contentious US elections in recent memory, the results are in - and truth, facts, and evidence-based decision making may have been the biggest losers."

Since 2008, DCS has been dedicated to providing the facts about fracking. There is so much at risk now. We need your help more than ever.
Brine Spreading
Amish Oppose Drilling Waste "Brine" Spreading
In rural Farmington Township, in NW PA, frequent spreading of drilling waste "brine" is sickening residents.

"Brine" spreading is actually a way to dump toxic drilling waste, with minimum regulation and no oversight, using dirt roads as the dump.

DCS has been helping residents, supplying the scientific information they need to defend their rights, and is quoted extensively in this article.

New Yorkers:
"Brine" spreading is also occurring across the border in NYS. The ban on high volume hydraulic fracturing does not protect New Yorkers from frack waste.
Carcinogens from Fracking

PA Doctors Call for State Ban on Fracking
The PA Medical Society has called for a moratorium on new shale gas drilling and fracking.

PA has invested heavily in fracking, but in-state health studies have demonstrated worsening asthma, premature births, neurological and mental symptoms, and other adverse effects.

A new Yale study states the many carcinogens used in fracking have the potential to increase the risk of cancer, especially childhood leukemia.

Only DCS is collecting data on the health impacts of fracking, via our Health Survey, and registering it with the Federal ATSDR. Our citizens' health is too precious to allow fracking in the Delaware River Basin.
