Due to uncertainty surrounding the variants of COVID-19, and with an abundance of caution for your health and wellbeing, we have decided to restructure our approach to next month’s public workshops. Rather than hosting a pair of in-person workshops in the community, we will hold these workshops virtually via Zoom on Wednesday, October 27 (times to be advised). While we haven’t worked out all the details yet, we will incorporate some great interactive tools to help facilitate an active conversation during these sessions. More on that soon!
That said, we will still have a quasi-in-person component to October’s consultation efforts. From October 13, we will take over the atrium at City Hall and set up a series of display boards to walk you through the consultation process. On this “self-guided tour”, you’ll learn about the history of the Parksville Aquatic and Recreation Centre, its feasibility study, some recent field studies, and engagement efforts to date. From there, you’ll have your say by filling out surveys, submitting ideas to open-ended prompts, contributing to a comment board, etc. Despite the deviation from our original plans, this format excites us a little bit more – it provides multiple avenues for you to contribute your thoughts.
