Greetings, HCDA!
We are looking forward to seeing everyone on November 28th at Topgolf Brandon for Current Climate of Organized Dentistry with Dr. Rudy Liddell. Dr. Liddell is a leader within our profession who has passionately represented all of us within organized dentistry over the last 25 years. This passion for dentistry has led Dr. Liddell to announce his candidacy for ADA President Elect 2024. He currently serves as the ADA 17th District Trustee and his previous positions include president of the FDA, WCDDA, and HCDA. We are honored to have Dr. Liddell speak to us and share his insight into the state of organized dentistry.
After a fantastic event at Topgolf last year we decided to return. The lecture and dinner will begin at 6:30 with golf to follow. We have planned additional time for playing golf this year and will have ample bays available. It will be a wonderful opportunity to reconnect with friends and build new relationships.
Lastly, our January meeting will be held at Palma Ceia and we are fortunate to have Dr. Andrea Tsatalis speak to us. As the holidays are approaching, I hope that all of you enjoy quality time with friends and family. I feel very fortunate to serve as your president and look forward to an incredible 2024!
Sincerely,
Dr. Matthew Ahrens

News from the WCDDA, FDA and ADA | |
FDA Focus on Insurance Reform
Join your colleagues for Dentists' Day on the Hill
During the 2024 Legislative Session, the Florida Dental Association (FDA) will focus on addressing solutions through dental insurance reform. These solutions will target areas that will benefit patients and reduce administrative burdens for dental offices. You can help your patients “unlock” their dental benefits by registering to attend the 2024 Dentists’ Day on the Hill (DDOH). As an FDA member, you can educate legislators on changes needed to dental insurance laws that will help patients access their full benefits. Click here to register.
If you are a WCDDA member interested in attending DDOH for the first time, reach out to admin@wcdental.org for more information grant money available to help cover your expenses. The Dan Bertoch Memorial Fund in Dan’s name was established in 2011 to provide funding for a first-time attendee(s) to Dentists’ Day on the Hill in Tallahassee. The grant can be used towards transportation to and from Tallahassee and accommodations at the host hotel.
