Pastor Kathy's Installation

Pastor Kathy will (finally!) be officially installed as Pastor and Teacher of Hampstead Congregational Church on Sunday, September 26th, at 2:30pm. Mark your calendars to join us for this special and joyous event!
Can you help with shoveling this winter?

Even though it is hot and sunny right now, winter will come. We are looking for someone to shovel this winter for a person in need in Emerson Village. The person is alone and not mobile enough to be able to shovel.

If you can help, please contact the office at (603) 329-6985 or

Worship Service This Week

Please join us in the sanctuary or online at 10am for the Twelfth Sunday after Pentecost

The service will also be live-streamed through Facebook Live here or on 3CX here. We hope you will join us in person or online.

Also, we are looking for people to read scripture each week. If you are interested, contact the office.
Coffee Hour

We are so glad that coffee hour has returned!

We are looking for volunteers to help with coffee hour prep and cleanup (and bringing in snacks). If you can help this Sunday or any following, please contact the Church Office or sign up after service.
Keeping Each Other Safe

Given the updated CDC guidance, and because we are in an area of substantial transmission, we encourage everyone to wear a mask when in worship or other gatherings at the church to maximize protection from the Delta variant and prevent possibly spreading it to others.
Would you like some fresh produce? Is your garden producing crops you can share?

If you’d like some fresh produce, feel free to stop by the foyer of Hadley Hall!

Right now there are several tomatoes and zucchini available. If you'd like to make a donation, all proceeds go to RIP Medical Debt. Donations can be placed in the basket (on Sunday mornings) or in the lockbox in the foyer.

If you have extra crops from your garden you would like to share with other church members and help an amazing cause, please bring them to Hadley Hall when you come for Sunday Service, or drop them off in the foyer. Thanks!

The church steeple is being lit the week of August 15th in remembrance of Vern Randell from the Randell Family.
Pastor Kathy's August Plans

Pastor Kathy will be out of the office the next two weeks. She will be traveling to Wisconsin to celebrate her mom's memorial service. Rev. Linda Lea Snyder will be providing pastoral coverage (ph. 203-927-5387).
Help Us with Faith Formation

Do you want to help children, youth and adults grow in faith, or maybe you'd like to organize community outreach activities? Would you like to see Sunday School at our church continue? Our Discipleship Team needs several people with these interests to keep our faith formation going at HCC. Please let Pastor Kathy know if you are interested in learning more.
Update on Olivia Nolan

In February we shared that Olivia Nolan had joined the US Marine Corps and had just completed her first week of Boot Camp.

Becky & Doug wanted to let everyone know that last month they all went out to 29 Palms in California to visit Olivia at her training base. They were so happy to see her, since they couldn’t see her at her graduation from boot camp at Paris Island.

Olivia will be shipping out to Okinawa Japan on the 23rd of August for 3 years. She was able to get three weeks leave. Olivia is home now; they've been visiting and doing things as a family again.
The family is looking forward to seeing everyone in person while she is home and they thank everyone at church for thinking of and praying for Olivia.

Olivia was grateful for all the letters of support she received from everyone at boot camp. They lifted her spirits and helped her get thru a tough 3 months!

We will try to get Olivia's mailing address in Japan once she gets settled.

Amazing Hydrangea Blooms!

Judy Dobson brought these huge hydrangea blooms from her Hampstead home and we have them in Hadley Hall for all to enjoy.
Notes from the Music Director . . .
Sharing some interesting stories and facts with you about hymns
The Story Behind Jesus Loves Me

"Jesus Loves Me" is one of the most popular Christian hymns around the world, especially among children. The hymn was first written by Anna B. Warner as a poem. Anna's sister Susan requested a poem for a dying child and Anna wrote the wonderful words of Jesus Loves Me to bring comfort and peace.

Anna's poem appeared in a novel, Say and Seal, and was composed by William Bradbury in 1862.

"Jesus Loves Me" with its simple, direct message, is one of the first hymns missionaries teach to new converts. It was the favorite hymn of Francis Schaeffer, who recognized that ultimately what intellectuals and children alike need is the simple message of Jesus. Amy Carmichael, the Irish missionary to India, was converted after hearing this hymn at a children's mission in Yorkshire, England.
Rides Needed To Sunday Services

Lydia Fagan and Erin McCune have offered to provide some of the rides for some HCC members that wish to come to Church services but are no longer driving. We could use others to be backup drivers.

Consider putting on your 'Taxi Cap' and driving a member or two. Be it for one Sunday or more! It will be greatly appreciated.

Please reach out to our office at 603-329-6985 or at

These members will be so happy to be able to come to a service. Thank you.

Blankets for Project Linus
For those of you who have been busy sewing, quilting, knitting, or crocheting, we have an new opportunity to donate those handmade items!

We located a national organization that has local chapters called Project Linus ( This organization's mission is "to provide love, a sense of security, warmth and comfort to children who are seriously ill, traumatized, or otherwise in need through the gifts of new, handmade blankets and afghans". Blankets are given to children in need through NH.

*We welcome all styles of blankets made in child-friendly colors/prints.
*Crocheted, knitted, quilted (100% cotton or flannel), fleece….you don’t have to be an expert!
*Blankets must be NEW, HANDMADE and WASHABLE.
*Fabric blankets can be quilted by machine, hand or tied. If you are tying the blanket make sure the ends are trimmed to 1” and the knots are secure.
*Please do not add any embellishments to the blankets such as buttons that could be swallowed by a child.
*If you are using a no-sew fleece pattern, please be sure to trim off both selvages FIRST. Not sure what selvages are? Ask the clerk who is cutting your fleece to please show you, they’re those odd looking edges at the top and bottom of the piece you have, sort of raggy looking.
*We accept all sizes of blankets. We donate to children, infants through teen years, so any size is appropriate. Baby blankets are typically 36”X36” or 36”X42”, toddler-pre-teen are typically about 40”X60”, and teen blankets are at least 60"X72".

Blankets can be dropped off in the entry way of Hadley Hall.

Thank you for your support of this project!

Scam Emails

Emails are often sent, saying they are from Pastor Kathy or another staff member. She (or the HCC staff) will never send out a generic email--she'll address it to your name. She will never ask you for money/gift cards over email.

Also, any email from Pastor Kathy will always have her signature line on the bottom with her phone number/address.
