The Open My Heart Foundation has joined the DC Metro HBCU Alumni Alliance, Inc.

(DCHBCUAA) in a collaborative effort to strengthen the community through the 11th Annual DC HBCU Alumni Alliance 5K Run/Walk and Community Day sponsored by Alfred Street Baptist Church this Saturday, June 29, 2024, at Nationals Park located at South Capitol St. SE, Washington, DC at 6:00am. Please join us and show up STRONG, representing the Open My Heart Foundation. 

The Alliance is made up of over 60 Historically Black Colleges And Universities (HBCUs) with a reach of over 250,000. They anticipate over 3,000 individuals and families participating in this EPIC HBCU weekend. The mission of the DCHBCUAA is to serve as an advocate for HBCU Alumni Associations by supporting the mission of HBCUs through scholarship fundraising, alumni reclamation and student recruitment in addition to aligning with the National HBCU Alumni Alliances by supporting and participating in programs that promote higher education, encourage healthy living, and fighting hunger. This is a Community Day with the purpose of improving the health and well-being of our communities. Scholarship recipients will be announced during the event.

The DCHBCUAA is at the forefront of a growing movement to raise awareness, provide resources and offer promising programs that are aimed at supporting at-risk individuals and the communities where they live. If you would like to learn more, go to
