HART Awards Contract for City Center Guideway and Stations

Awards Contract for CCGS

On August 15, 2024, the Honolulu Authority for Rapid Transportation (HART) awarded a contract to Tutor Perini Corporation for the design and construction of the next segment of the Honolulu rail transit project. Known as the City Center Guideway and Stations (CCGS), this third segment, with a contract price of approximately $1.66 billion, will include six rail stations and approximately three miles of elevated rail. The segment will begin just east of the Middle Street Transit Center Station and end at the Civic Center Station, near the intersection of Halekauwila and South Street. The contract is expected to be executed in mid-September.

Project design will begin immediately after contract execution, with construction estimated to start in the second half of 2025 and be completed in 2030.

Traffic Update

raffic Update - CCUR III Kalihi

HART and Nan, Inc. would like to remind the public of ongoing City Center Utilities Relocation (CCUR) work in the Kalihi area. For the safety of the public and our construction crews, Kamehameha Highway and Dillingham Boulevard between Middle Street and Kaaahi Street is reduced to one lane in each direction 24/7. Left turns onto the intersecting streets and coming in and out of driveways is prohibited.

In addition, work during the evening hours will require the mauka and makai lanes at the intersecting streets to be closed from 7 pm to 5 am on weeknights, and weekends as needed.

Bus stops, pedestrian walkways, and access to properties is maintained at all times.
