Happy 4th of July!

Free Indeed ... NO LIMITS!

As we celebrate our independence in the Land of the Free and Home of the Brave, I pray that you all are having a safe and fantastic Fourth of July! At SOZO we are also celebrating freedom and boldness in Jesus Christ.

At our SOZO Kidz Camp this past weekend, 19 of our students raised their hands and decided to follow Jesus and be baptized - Hallelujah! Glory to God!! Now they are truly free to live a life with No Limits in Christ.

The Kidz camp was so much fun and a huge success! And we are happy to report that the Lord spared us from any major injuries (thank you Jesus!).

Now take a moment to check out some of our outstanding campers and how God moved in their lives at camp:

SOZO Kidz Summer Camp 2024 Award Winners

Overcomer Champion Camper:

Zyir'

This young man was under attack and displayed a lot of aggression and anger during the first two days of camp. He stated he wanted to go home a few times, but after being loved on by our staff something broke in his spirit and he overcame and finished camp strong. No Limits!

Overcomer Champion Camper:

Ezzy

One of our smallest and youngest girl campers, Ezzy fought through adversity at camp and overcame many challenges. She was also one of the few campers who made it through the entire high ropes course even when it looked like she was going to give up. No Limits!

Squad Member Champion:

Jordan B.

Jordan was a vital player in leading his team to be the Squad War Champions - he played with integrity and fervor. His Squad Captain, Dominique, stated Jordan played the role of captain several times encouraging his team at times when they started to lose hope, hyping them back up into battle mode. Something definitely changed in this kid as he's usually one of the ones that is always having to be disciplined and one of the main culprits causing some kind of trouble. But not at this camp! No Limits!

Squad Member Champion:

Caylee

The smallest person on her squad (and the tiniest camper), Caylee played and competed like she was the biggest kid at camp. She never missed a beat and was always in the mix wanting to participate in every activitiy. She's truly a No Limit champion!

Most Courageous First-Time Camper:

Z'Korie

Before we even left for camp, this young man sustained a nose bleed from being hit with a pool ball (ouch!), but he handled it like a champ and did not give up. He was on the scene ready to go the whole time during camp and did not quit. He was a No Limit superstar!

Most Courageous First-Time Camper:

Brielle

It took three years to finally get this young lady to camp and she was fearless! She was one of only two people who caught a fish, she was part of the team that won the Squad Wars, and she lifted her hands high to worship Jesus! She was a No Limit warrior!

NO LIMITS Honoree:

Jah'Cory

Jah'Cory served on the praise team at camp and did a phenomal job performing his rap songs during club time every night, was always volunteering to help out the leaders when needed, and participated at a very high level during cabin time where students got to dig a little deeper and discuss the message that was shared that evening. No Limits indeed!

NO LIMITS Honoree:

La'Tressa

Her first time ever attending a summer camp, LayLay (as we call her) fought through the emotional front of the passing of her grandpa. She had a major breakthrough during our campfire session moving her to call her mom and express her determination to change her ways and be more respectful. She was extremely engaged and involved in the cabin time lessons, asking questions and learning what it means to live with No Limits!

All-Around Best Camper:

Jah'Cory

Yes, he won two awards at camp. For the first time in SOZO Camp history, this young man won this award two years in a row, back-to-back! There was no question he was the all-around best camper - he stayed engaged in every activity and was a confident participant in the cabin time small group. He led the praise team and encouraged other campers when they were down. He set an example of what it looks like to be a kid who loves God with all his heart!

All-Around Best Camper:

Alexy

Also setting the first-time record along with the other recipient for this award, Alexy was no doubt an all-around best camper for the 2nd year in a row. She took charge in the girls cabin helping clean up and making sure the other girls stayed in line, she participated in every activity with confidence, and was just a joy to be around at camp! She has triumphed through a lot of hardship in her life and is undoubedly growing in her relationship with God!

I just wanted to give you all a quick update on our successful camp and thank each of you for your love, generosity, and prayers towards this very important mission and these young souls. The Lord moved in a powwerful way and you all helped make all of this possible.

Please keep us in your prayers as we prepare for the SOZO Youth Camp for our teens next week (July 12th - 20th) heading to Kids Across America (KAA) in Branson, MO.

May the Lord bless you and keep you all. Happy Independence Day!!

Together we are advancing God's kingdom.

Your brother in the Lord,

Bishop Freeze
