Guest House Films Launches Kickstarter Campaign
for 9th Feature Film,
Happiness Adjacent
Leading gay film producer and distributor Guest House Films has started pre-production on its ninth feature film - a romantic drama titled
Happiness Adjacent. The film will be written and directed by Rob Williams, and produced by Williams and Rodney Johnson. Principal photography is scheduled to begin later this year.
Happiness Adjacent explores the romance between Hank, a nice Jewish boy who definitely isn't looking for love, and Kurt, a Midwestern man who desperately needs someone to break up the monotony of his stale marriage. The men meet on a tropical getaway, where gay Hank is traveling alone and bisexual Kurt is vacationing with his wife, Kate, who seems clueless about her husband's affair.
"I'm excited to tell a very intimate story about three people whose lives are changed while on vacation, where people often get out of their comfort zones, try new things and search for new experiences," said Williams. "I love moving between comedy and drama, and I hope our fans will enjoy this film, which is a definite change of pace for me and for Guest House Films."
"With
Happiness Adjacent, we're looking to produce a visually stunning film while telling a compelling story about the ongoing search for love in a way that is different from our previous films," said Johnson. "Because this movie is set during the characters' tropical vacation, the locations we've selected will add a cinematically gorgeous backdrop to that story."
