Totally Ready for Summer!

Well, you may have heard about the Great American Solar Eclipse happening on April 8th and YES, the Northeast Kingdom including Burke is in the path of totality. Whether you're in the area for this once in a lifetime event or are transitioning into Summer mode, make it a point to enjoy the experiences that Burke and surrounding towns have to offer.

There are lots of Eclipse related events happening including at Burke Mountain, The Fairbanks Museum & Planetarium, The Wildfower, Lyndon Institute, Lyndonville,, Westmore and Island Pond. (Please stay off hiking and other trails to prevent trail erosion during this time of year known as Mud Season.)

If you're not in the market to buy a bike, no worries, you can rent a mountain bike this summer when the trails open in May. You can rent a bike for one day or up to four days. And, it's easy peasy to reserve a bike via the EBS website. Simply select the dates you need a bike and then choose from a selection of top name mountain bikes and boom, you're all set to head to the shop, pick up your ride and hit the trails!

Whether you're visiting this month for some R&R or are planning for summer, we've got all variety of lodging in and around Burke.


East Burke Rentals offers several homes close to village shops and restaurants. Among your choices are The Barn with a fire pit outside, the Moose Tracks Cabin which sleeps up to 6 people or The Main House nestled on 15 private acres.


The Burke Bike Barn is the perfect spot for a summer biking getaway featuring rustic, trailside accommodations in a renovated timber-frame barn. The Farmhouse next door is available year round and offers 2 units that sleep up to 6 people.


The Wildflower offers a great location with direct trail access and stunning pastoral views. The 25 room inn has a restaurant on site plus bike rentals and guides right next door. This month, the Inn is hosting a Wellness Retreat from the 19th - 21st.


Kingdom Campground opens mid-May, but it's a popular spot so book now for summer. The 100 acre property offers 100 camp and RV sites plus an on-site laundry, general store, pool and more.
