Green Teen Celebrates Unforgettable "A Family Meal" Benefit Dinner

Millbrook, NY - Green Teen, a sustainable agriculture program of Cornell Cooperative Extension Dutchess County, is thrilled to share the success of "A Family Meal," a remarkable benefit dinner hosted by Culinary Institute of America volunteer Alex Bodey and his partner Julia Savasta. The event, held at Greig Farm in Red Hook, was a magnificent evening of camaraderie and support for the important local issues surrounding food and community.

The ambiance at Greig Farm was nothing short of magical as a crowd of individuals committed to fostering positive change gathered for the event. Each delectable dish presented at the dinner was meticulously crafted using locally sourced ingredients, many of which were generously donated. To our delight, even some of Green Teen's own produce found its way onto the menu, with our flavorful garlic transformed into delightful kimchi for the steak, and our succulent strawberries adding a delightful touch to the dessert popsicles.

Seated around charming picnic tables, attendees reveled in the joyous atmosphere, with plates of lovingly prepared family-style dishes being passed from hand to hand. The sense of unity and togetherness truly embodied the feeling of a warm and welcoming family dinner.

Green Teen extends its deepest gratitude to all those who attended the benefit dinner. “Their presence and support meant the world to us,” said Samantha Brittian the Program Manager for Green Teen. “We are also immensely thankful to the businesses and farms that graciously donated their supplies, contributing to the success of the event. That generosity played a vital role in making "A Family Meal" an extraordinary experience.”

Staff extended warm thanks to Alex Bodey and Julia Savasta, whose vision and hard work brought "A Family Meal" to life. We are tremendously proud of your accomplishments and look forward to witnessing the positive impact you will continue to make in the world.

The proceeds from "A Family Meal" will directly benefit Green Teen's ongoing initiatives, enabling us to further empower youth through sustainable agriculture and environmental education. The outpouring of love and support we received from the community is something we will cherish forever, and it reinforces our commitment to fostering a healthier and more sustainable future.
