VAE Cars & Coffee – Porsche Day [7.00am – 9.00am]

The Vermont Automobile Enthusiasts' [VAE] Porsche Day Cars & Coffee will be held at the University Mall (155 Dorset Street, South Burlington) from 7:00am – 9:00am. Let's make a good showing of GMR member Porsche vehicles in support of the VAE. No registration/fee is necessary to attend the Cars & Coffee.

GMR Driving Tour [9.00am – 12.30pm]

At the conclusion of Cars & Coffee, GMR's Membership Chair, Brad Kennison, will lead a GMR Driving Tour from University Mall to the Red Hen Baking Company in Middlesex. There is no charge to participate on the Driving Tour but you must pre-register by clicking the above button or pasting msreg.com/PorscheCarsandCoffee into your browser.

Be sure to complete the PCA Liability Wavier form when you register.

For the Tour only please plan to be at the University Mall around 9.00am. The Tour will depart from the Mall no later than 10.00am; the mandatory drivers meeting taking place at 9.30am. Drive time is approximately 2 hours not including a brief break at the Warren Store in Warren.

The route will be on paved country roads with plenty of twists and turns, an ascent and descent on the App Gap on Rt 17, followed by a cruise down Rt 100 to Warren Village. After the break we will drive up East Warren Rd for spectacular views of Sugarbush, the Green Mountains and Mad River Valley. From there we will travel back into Waitsfield and a pleasant ride through Moretown concluding at the Red Hen Baking Company in Middlesex, Vt. Food and beverages are available on an individual basis with indoor and outdoor seating. The Red Hen Baking Company is 1/4 mile from the entrance to I-89 for both north and southbound traffic.

Membership Musing from Brad Kennison,

GMR Membership Chair

On June 18,2022, the Green Mountain Region welcomed new members that had joined over the past year. At that meeting I shared with those in attendance the growth in GMR membership from January 2019 to the present. Except for 2020, where membership was relatively flat due to Covid, GMR has grown at a steady pace similar to PCA.

On a bi-monthly basis PCA shares data on how new sign-ups become members. In each report the main driver is current PCA member referral.

As Porsche enthusiasts, when you share your individual experiences as a member of the Green Mountain Region of PCA you help fuel our growth.

The easiest method for potential new members to sign up is through the pca.org website or leave them with a PCA informational brochure.

Upcoming GMR Events

Be sure to save the dates and note your calendars

Vermont Antique and Classic Car Meet [August 12 - August 14]. The Vermont Auto Enthusiasts [VAE] signature annual event is the Vermont Antique and Classic Car Meet. This year’s 65th annual Show will once again be held at Farr’s Field 2 miles west of Waterbury on US Rt. 2. The GMR Board and VAE are in the process of finalizing details for a dedicated Porsche area over the weekend. Please keep an eye out for the forthcoming details.

Annual GMR Potluck BBQ [Saturday, August 20]. GMR members Lee and Brenda Roy have generously offered their home on Goodsell Pt. in Colchester for our 2022 member potluck BBQ. The location is ideal as it is approximately 4 miles off the Colchester I-89 exit and sits on Lake Champlain with plenty of room for socializing, swimming and eating. In keeping with prior practice attendees are asked to bring an appetizer, salad or dessert to share; the club will supply the burgers and hot dogs. You may want to bring a portable chair for your seating comfort.

September - The Club would very much like to have a driving tour in south central Vermont. If you are interested in leading or planning a tour please drop a note to ALESSANDRO IUPPA at gmrpca@com.

GMR Annual Meeting/Luncheon & Officer Election [Saturday, October 15]. We will once again be at the Sugarbush Resort. The 2022 business meeting is important as we will hold elections for officers in addition to other business. Of course, in keeping with GMR tradition the focus will be on socializing. Ann Pettyjohn and Lou Krieg are planning a driving tour to Sugarbush from the Burlington area and we hope to have a similar tour from south central Vermont.

Holiday Reception [December date TBD]
