New Year's Inspiring Numbers
|
Have you heard the old saying, "Start the way you mean to go on"? That's great advice to begin the new year. We'd like to start by thanking all our Eco-Extraordinary volunteers and supporters.
Throughout 2021, despite many challenges, SCARCE continued with our mission to educate our neighbors and protect our earth.
Here's a few highlights we can all be proud of:
-
6,236 hours of service provided by volunteers!
-
327 programs & community events
-
Over 4,500 deliveries received at our facility, keeping valuable books and supplies out of landfills!

The ABC's of Smart Recycling!
|
Make this your Year of Green Learning! Every month during 2022, SCARCE will explore how to better respect our earth's resources.
Let's begin with A- ALUMINUM. Recycling an aluminum can saves 95% of the energy needed to make a can from raw materials. Learn more about this highly recyclable material:
- Which royal monarch preferred aluminum forks to golden ones?
- What US monument is capped in aluminum?
- Crush that can or just toss it?

January 29th is National Puzzle Day
|
SCARCE has what you need to celebrate--Puzzles!
Teachers can find crafting puzzle pieces, and puzzles for classroom use in our teacher resource area, the SCARCE Reuse Center.
Volunteers can join our Puzzle Posse to borrow donated puzzles to check for all pieces. Come puzzle with us!

Christmas Tree Recycling Happens Now!
|
Tossing your dead tree? Great!
Old Christmas trees go into chippers to make mulch for our local towns.
Please remember to remove all tinsel and decorations.
And don't bother with that bag!
