Solar Power Hours are scheduled in July and August with 2 sessionsEn Español. The newly opened Hope's Garden at the DuPage County Jail offers inmates an opportunity to connect with nature and learn new skills. The garden was a collaboration of SCARCE, the DuPage County Sheriff, DuPage County Environmental Committee Chair Liz Chaplin and JUST of DuPage.

Christmas in July: Holiday Light Recycling Update
36,765 pounds of holiday lights were recycled in DuPage County during the 2019/2020 season. Since 2009, the program has spread across Illinois and recycled almost a half million pounds of lights.

New Collection: Bikes, Bike parts & Accessories
SCARCE is now a drop-off site for
Working Bikes. SCARCE will accept donations of repairable adult bikes, gently-used kids' bikes, bike parts and bike accessories. Donation hours are Tu-Fri 9am-2pm.
Our book rescue couldn't function without these amazing individuals that dedicate their time each week to sorting, stocking, and organizing your donations!
