Hello Friend of the Boys & Girls Club of Greater Shasta,
First and foremost, all of us here at the Boys & Girls Club of Greater Shasta hope that you, your family and friends are well, safe and healthy. Our dedication to young people and their families does not waver in times of crisis, such as the pandemic we are facing today. Our commitment to our Club kids and families is stronger than ever. And we are committed to do what ever it takes to serve the youth in our area.
The importance of our work is more evident now than ever before as we serve as a vital resource to a vulnerable population. That’s why we are leading with innovative, solution-focused strategies to meet the needs of our Club kids and families, in real-time.
Since mid-March we have adjusted to the “New Normal” and have been focusing on three primary areas: virtual programming and essential food resources for our Club members and families while our Club doors are closed--
distributing free bags of food for our families with the greatest need--
and making the necessary preparations to reopen the Club to welcome back our members for our Summer Program.
We are excited to announce that we are reopening the Club for our Summer Program starting
June 29th.
In preparation of welcoming back our Club members, Boys & Girls Club of Greater Shasta has put in place preventative measures in accordance to the CDC guidelines to reduce the spread of COVID-19, and assure that our summer program would be fully compliant with social distancing and infection prevention protocols.
Thanks to you-- our donors, partners and supporters, who remain committed to our Club during this time-- we will continue to serve the youth and families who need us most, both now and in the months and years ahead.
Sincerely,
Noam Zimin

We are in an unprecedented moment in history. In times like these, our collective ability to rise to the occasion and join together for the benefit of all is fortified, and a galvanizing notion that “we are in this together” is emphasized.
Today, the Boys & Girls Club of Greater Shasta is committed more than ever
-- we are committed to remaining true to our spirit, dedication and passion to fulfill our mission to do whatever it takes to support the youth, families and the communities we serve during this crisis.
|
|
As we make the necessary preparations to reopen our doors and welcome back our Club members,
we need your continued support now more than ever
as the Club will play a vital role in helping youth recover a sense of emotional safety and community that may be lost during these uncertain times, and provide parents with a place for their children to be safe and well-fed while they return to work.
|
|
We are calling on our community to help ensure the health and well-being of our kids, their families, and our community in this time of need.
We understand that these are challenging times for everyone, and as such, no gift is too small.

Safety remains the number one priority of Boys & Girls Club of Greater Shasta and we are doing everything possible to keep children, our staff, and volunteers protected from the COVID-19 virus. We continue to monitor all updates from the Centers of Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and local and state health departments for updated information.
Given the state of the virus in our community and with guidance from local health officials, the Club plans to reopen June 29th. Upon reopening, the following precautions will take place to ensure the health and safety of both members and staff:
- Social distancing (i.e. only 10 youth per classroom, spaced 6 feet apart)
- Wellness monitoring (including temperature checks)
- Increased sterilization
- Required hand-washing
We realize that Boys & Girls Club of Greater Shasta is the only place that some of the families in our community can turn to when schools are closed. We are monitoring this diligently and will continue to operate with these limitations in place as long as we are able to provide a safe environment for young people. As always, we place the safety of our youth and staff at the highest level.
