The 49th Annual Frontier Days in Fort Dodge is this weekend from May 31 to June 2, 2024. The event kicks off Friday night with DJ Bingo and a performance by Stadium Drive. Saturday features the Frontier Days Parade starting at 10:00am on Central Ave, an escape room, and live performances, including Jesse Kinch.

Sunday concludes with a Battle of the Bands. The weekend also includes various vendors, historical reenactments, and unique attractions like chainsaw carving and a ventriloquist show.

Meier recognized with Iowa CPAs

Month of Service Award

Kim Meier was presented with the Iowa CPAs Month of Service Community Impact Award during the 2024 ISCPA Leadership Conference on May 2 at The Meadows Events & Conference Center in Altoona.


The Community Impact Award recognizes an individual for outstanding dedication to community through commitment of time and resources or positively impacting a specific group in need through participation in the Iowa CPAs Month of Service event held annually in September. The Iowa CPAs Month of Service event promotes community service across the state by ISCPA members and

within the accounting profession.


Kim is an accountant with Bowser & Richman LLP in Fort Dodge and has been a member of ISCPA since 2017. Kim’s Month of Service volunteer efforts touched multiple groups in her community including serving with Fort Dodge Kiwanis, removing old carpet from the local library, working with the Retired and Senior Volunteer Program – BASE on an exercise program for senior citizens, and serving on the board of directors for Lotus Community Project, a homeless shelter for women and families.

Iowa Travel Industry Partners (iTIP), the leading statewide association of the tourism and hospitality industry, has announced the recipients of the second annual

iTIP Awards.



The awards ceremony will take place at the annual meeting on Tuesday, June 11, 2024, in Sioux City. The recipients and their guests are invited to a reception and award ceremony at 10:00am on Tuesday, June 11th at the

Hilton Garden Inn in Sioux City.


The Fort Dodge Grain Silo Mural is the recipient of Arts, Culture & Heritage Award in a medium-sized market. Presented by Group Travel Leader, recognizes a business, organization, event, or destination that showcases the arts, culture, or history for the enhancement of the tourism experience and

economic well-being of the community.

Meals on Wheels Fort Dodge is looking for a volunteer to staff

a delivery route.


Volunteers deliver one route of approximately 10 stops

for one week, Monday through Friday. It takes 

approximately 1 hour to deliver a route. Your turn comes up

once every ten weeks. It’s a small commitment of time

with great rewards.
