President's Message
Dear Friends,

With fall just around the corner and more children going back to school (virtually, face-to-face, or both), there is a familiar sense of the changing seasons in the air.

Fall also represents a significant transitional time because the holiday season is approaching. For those of us in the non-profit world, we turn our attention to year-end campaigns, fall fundraisers, and celebrations of all we've accomplished.

Your AFP Dallas Chapter will also be celebrating the achievements of five amazing NPD Award honorees at our 35th Annual National Philanthropy Day event, which is going virtual!

Please mark your calendars for Friday, November 13th and plan to tune in as we honor:
  • Carl and Mary Ice (Outstanding Philanthropists)
  • Natalie Dossett (Outstanding Volunteer Fundraiser)
  • Stephanie Brigger (Outstanding Fundraising Executive),
  • The David M. Crowley Foundation (Outstanding Foundation)
  • Toyota of North America (Outstanding Corporation).

More information is coming soon but for now, please save the date and plan to join us as we shine a spotlight on the generosity and accomplishments of these outstanding individuals and organizations who do so much for the Greater Dallas philanthropic community.

In addition to our Monthly Lunch Program Series, you’ll see lots of other opportunities on calendar this fall including:
September Funder's Forum Program
And we continue to provide you with relevant opportunities to engage, learn, develop, and grow, and this month is no different. How familiar are you with our Funders Forums? If you’ve ever attended one of these programs, you know just how valuable they are. Plan to join us online on September 23 when we'll be joined by panelists from by Texas Instruments, The Dallas Jewish Community Foundation and Texas Capital Bank. Register now to listen in on inside information and learn the “secret sauce” of what these funders are seeking when awarding program dollars.

Thanks to Catapult Fundraising for hosting this online program!
Thursday Thoughts
is a casual peer-to-peer virtual happy hour when AFP members and non-member guests hold an open conversation to discuss and share ideas on a variety of topics, challenges and current events. Join us on September 10 by registering here.
Young Professionals Virtual Happy Hour
for members and non-members age 30 and under. Check in and connect with your Young Professional fundraising colleagues. It's a vibrant online community of up and coming movers-and-shakers who are sharing their experiences and lessons learned. Join us on September 29 by registering here.

So as fall approaches and the smell of pumpkin spice fills the air, please remember to check out all the great programs and resources available through your AFP chapter – and if nothing else, please remember that "Autumn is a second spring when every leaf is a flower." - Albert Camus

I look forward to seeing you soon!
