President's Message

We often talk about fundraising in terms of agriculture – cultivate, sew, nurture, grow – and there often seem to be seasons to our work cycles. We are approaching the end of the first and second quarters of the year, a key time for fundraising events, in-person donor meetings, and many grant writing deadlines. Globally, we are also in a US election year, fraught financial times, and land wars in Europe.

What I hope is that the AFP Greater Dallas Chapter continues to provide our members with the resources needed to fuel the missions we work to fund. Fundraising professionals go to work every day to help solve the world’s problems and it is so helpful to have a place that feels like ours.

This month we are so grateful to have Rachelle Ficke and Ashley Sage, Senior Directors with CCS Fundraising, (also one of our chapter sponsors) present Fundraising 101. I’m personally excited for this course because so much has and is changing within our profession and the non-profit industry. I encourage you to attend and bring a co-worker or colleague. Note, this month is also a morning meeting, so be sure to note the schedule change.

I’m also personally excited for Diana Kao (Greenhill School), Jared Fitzpatrick (Signify Health), and Sam Santiago (Grupo Sant Cobian) to present Executive Conversations - Fundraising through the Generational and DEB (Diversity, Equity, and Belonging) Lens. Thank you to Mission Advancement for sponsoring this series.

And a big thank you to our chapter sponsor M. Gale and Associates and

all our conference presenters and sponsors.

I pray each of you has a successful month – no matter the metric of success!

With gratitude,

Alicia Peoples, JD
