President's Message
Dear Friends,

A friend recently sent me a meme that read “Can’t believe spring break is almost over.” While my first reaction was to laugh, I realized that it was true – my daughters came home from school on a Friday afternoon in March, ready to enjoy the spring break week, and they have not been back to school face-to-face since then.

So much has happened and there are still so many unknowns. What we do know is that virtual events, social distancing and finding new ways to engage our members, donors and clients are here to stay for the foreseeable future. These are the goals we must continuously focus on and work towards, as organizations and institutions everywhere have been affected by this pandemic. We can all use this opportunity to adjust our fundraising strategies, because one thing is sure: although the doors of schools and gala halls have been closed since March, the show must go on!

At your AFP Greater Dallas Chapter we are no different, as we continue to look for and identify valuable programming, training and resources to keep you up to date during changing times and to help you be successful in your efforts to reach your organizational goals. With that said, take a look at the many upcoming chapter programs and opportunities in this newsletter and plan to join us soon – I can’t wait to see you!

Best Regards,

Shawn Wills, CFRE
President, Greater Dallas AFP
