6:45 pm, A Member's Home

Join us for a special showing of

Dreaming of a Jewish Christmas

There is an $18 charge, since Chinese food will be brought in! RSVP HERE by December 15 for a fun movie discussion and yummy food! Address will be sent after you RSVP.

About the movie: Set almost entirely in a Chinese restaurant, Dreaming of a Jewish Christmas  is an offbeat, irreverent musical documentary that tells the story of a group of Jewish songwriters, including Irving Berlin, Mel Tormé, Jay Livingston, Ray Evans, Gloria Shayne Baker and Johnny Marks, who wrote the soundtrack to Christianity’s most musical holiday. It’s an amazing tale of immigrant outsiders who became irreplaceable players in pop culture’s mainstream -- a generation of songwriters who found in Christmas the perfect holiday in which to imagine a better world and, for at least one day a year, make us believe in it.

Don't forget to RSVP HERE or

Resource Guide from National:

an Israel Messaging Guide

The following document contains messaging, social media, calls to action, and talking points for the war between Israel and Hamas, as well as its echoes and impacts around the world. NCJW approaches all of our work Jewishly and through the intersections of gender, economic, and racial justice.

NCJW Israel Messaging Guidance (Updated (11/27)

Here are a sample of the topics with direct links:

  1. Top Line Messaging
  2. Policy Positions
  3. NCJW’s Israel Principles and Resolutions
  4. Principle 10. The survival and security of the State of Israel and the establishment of a just and permanent peace are central to the Jewish people and vital to the interests of the United States.
  5. Debunking Problematic Language (e.g. genocide, apartheid state, and settler colonialism is a system of oppression)

War is devastating and we are anguished over the civilian tolls of the war. We value all human life.

Finally, here is a link to watch the extremely powerful UN meeting entitled "Hear Our Voices" addressing the atrocities committed on October 7 on women and children. Our National NCJW President Sheila Katz speaks to the assembly around minute 10.
