Grateful Encounters

"I will give thanks to you, LORD, with all my heart; I will tell of all your wonderful deeds."

Psalm 9:1

Dear Ministry Partner,

In December, Christmas songs and Christmas symbols are seen everywhere. All classes in Indonesia have to pause studying because CCI class participants and teachers are focused on celebrating Christmas. I am also grateful because I received Christmas invitations from several study participants to attend Christmas celebrations at their local churches. There were even study participants who asked me to convey a Christmas message during the celebration.

I am also grateful because I was able to visit the church planted by the study participants and hear their testimonies about how God helped provide for their needs in miraculous ways.

On December 10, 2023, I was invited by Pastor Andreas Tangdilitin, the pastor of Bethel Indonesia Church (GBI) Kira Mamasa, to share God's Word and see the condition of the church they had planted. I was very blessed by the enthusiasm of the church congregation. Despite the simple building made of tarpaulin and plywood walls, they were not hindered from worshiping. However, the thin plywood had started to be damaged due to exposure to rain and heat. Upon seeing this situation, CCI Indonesia helped by purchasing 3 scores of planking wood and 1 score of block wood, at a cost of $80, to be used as walls. Hopefully, by the beginning of next year, the church will have better walls.

I am very grateful because on December 7, 12, and 29, 2023, I was entrusted to preach and deliver the Christmas message at the prayer fellowship of the Agape Tandukalua Mamasa pastors, at the New Testament Christian Church located in Sumarorong Mamas. Additionally, at Bethel Indonesia Church VCL Oenai West Timor, I used this opportunity to demonstrate how to preach systematically on Luke 2:14. I am very grateful for the response from those who attended the Christmas celebration. They said that the verse was only used thematically without looking at the context, so when they heard what I said they understood the context better and grasped the truth of what was being taught. I also utilized this moment to share about CCI services in Indonesia.

Testimony From a Graduate

"My name is Andreas, and I am a CCI class alumnus who graduated last month. While I was studying in the CCI class, I felt God calling me to become a pastor and start a church plant. During that time, I worked for the government as a patrol guard for the Deputy Regent of Mamasa, and I also opened a food stall in my house. The call to become a pastor required me to change my job. This call made me apply for early retirement from the government. Every decision I made and everything I did was influenced by what I learned in the CCI study class. Even in the church planting that I engaged in, there were many miracles in the form of God's provision for temporary construction needs, as well as in terms of purchasing land. The learning from the seminar on God's Financial Principles (GFP) was very helpful in strengthening my belief in God's provision. I thank God because CCI and the learning it provides have become a means to equip and prepare me to respond to God's call to plant churches."
