Thursday, April 25, 2024!

This event will take place from 11am to 2pm at 8000 Highway 107 (Suite 17) in Sherwood, AR 72120. There will be free haircuts, food and fun!

A ribbon-cutting will be conducted by the Sherwood Chamber of Commerce. The OK Program, a mentor program that empowers Black men and boys to transform their communities, will be present conducting a mentorship drive.

Marvin Cawthon, owner of 5 Star Cutz, expressed excitement about opening a second location. He initially started the barbershop in Pine Bluff, AR six years ago, which is currently operating at 817 West Sixth Avenue.

"We've expanded the location with Pine Bluff being the main hub," Cawthon said.

He described the new Sherwood location as "family oriented and professional."

"I believe in going with the community. We're just trying to give back," Cawthon said.

A former resident of Pine Bluff, Cawthon spent ten years with the Pine Bluff Police Department. He is now a resident of Sherwood and is presently with the Pulaski County Sheriff's Office.

Cawthon said that he is currently looking for professional and licensed barbers for both locations. In Pine Bluff, he is also looking for one stylist and one braider.
