Southern Recreation Center Grand Opening
Mark your calendars for the official Grand Opening of the Southern Recreation Center and the new Lehigh Trailhead on Friday, February 23rd from 4:30 - 7 pm at 1290 Belle Terre Parkway, Palm Coast, FL 32164. The Southern Recreation Center is the result of a significant investment in the community. This project was funded in part by the Flagler County Government Tourist Development Council (TDC). The facility boasts a Community Building with offices, restrooms, locker rooms with showers, kitchen dining space, public access to 2 multi-purpose rooms, lobby space, an exterior patio, and a balcony. In addition, the facility's exterior features twelve pickleball courts, six of which are covered for year-round use.

Splash Pad Project Update
Hear from Eric Gebo, Stormwater & Engineering Architect for the City of Palm Coast, as he provides a brief project update on the construction. Eric explains all the exciting changes happening on-site and what residents can look forward to once this project is complete. The surface material and concrete have been removed, and contractors are replacing drains and piping. New concrete installation is set to be poured in March, with the project completion targeted for this summer.

During the February 13th City Council workshop meeting, Palm Coast unveiled its strategic plan for road maintenance, following extensive collaboration with Transmap, a leading provider of support services to the transportation industry. A roadmap has been also crafted for the next five years, outlining the scheduled resurfacing of various main roadways and residential streets. This plan will undergo annual revisions to align with actual costs, bids, and revenue updates. | |
Following the City Council's directive, city staff have been hard at work addressing drainage issues in our community. During the City Council Workshop Meeting on February 13th, a presentation update was provided by the Stormwater & Engineering Department, detailing efforts such as gathering infill lot facts, updating technical manuals, identifying funding sources, and recommendation to establish a Citizen Advisory Committee to address residential drainage. | |
