The Heart of Generosity - Faithfulness, Service & Love
If there is ever anything that resonates well in our quest for an exemplary life, think about faithfulness, service and love for God, community and ourselves. This new month, let us think about these 3 values as we unite as a family of God.
Expressing gratitude first thing in the morning sets the tone for our day. The more we appreciate, the more we spread that joy to others. An African proverb states that “Honey catches more flies than vinegar,” means that it is better to be kind and respectful, even to those who are not kind to you. In other words, being quick to give makes you give even to one who will never give to you.
As a family of God l hold the belief that one by one makes a bundle. Your faithfulness, service and love shine at Grace and because of your generosity, we remain resolute and resilient as one family of God. Therefore, as we navigate through the rest of the months, let’s be bonded as a family; look out for the needs of the church and others as a way of gratitude. “The wise man does not lay up his own treasures. The more he gives to others, the more he has for his own.” – Lao Tzu. My final reflection is on these great minds for you. Melody Beattie notes, "Gratitude turns what we have into enough." Rebecca Solnit actually puts it livelier, "Every minute of every hour of every day you are making the world, and just as you are making yourself, and you might as well do it with generosity and kindness and style."
