Parking at Grace

When you come to Grace this week and next (or until the portables are gone) during business hours please do not park near the garage or in the handicapped spaces on the south side of the parking lot. There is a lot of big equipment moving around to tear down the portables.

New Main Entrance is now OPEN!

The welcome kids' doors are no longer the entrance to Grace. Please use the new main entrance doors. The doorbell is located on the far north door/handicapped door. Please ring the doorbell to gain entrance. Due to safety issues that have occurred in the past year including calls to the sheriff's office, the doors will be locked to protect ALL staff and the daycare. Those who have a code to the building can now enter their code on the new keypad which is on the north pillar of the front entrance.

Pastor's Message

What's the Buzz!

It is amazing all that is going on at Grace! Grace at a Glance is the place where you get all of the information about what is going on in the life and ministry of Grace! I continue to be amazed at all our staff does day in and day out week after week to ensure our ministry leaders and teams feel supported. We design meaningful programming for children, youth and their families and try our best to keep up with the changing tides and seasons of living in a busy world. I am so grateful for our staff for how thoughtful they are about changes that must come, about ministry, and about GRACE (God’s grace and this place)!

I want to highlight a couple of fun things that happened this week! For those of you who joined us on Sunday, we are now able to enter into our church through the new main entry! When you walk in the door, you enter into our new expanded hallway and y’all it is wonderful. My brain is bubbling with all the possibilities of this new space! If you can stop by this week or next, please do to see this transformation. And don’t forget September 8th our Grand Opening Celebration. I have been busy all week emailing volunteers and hearing from members who have invited ministry partners, neighbors, and strangers to this event! Please keep doing this! We want the whole community to be there!

Our Men’s ministry had a BBQ at Stepping Stones Emergency Housing, you can hear more and see photos below. Thanks to Grace’s Men’s ministry for providing this meal and fellowship to this community. To learn more about men’s ministry- reach out to me (mariam@graceandover.org) and I will get you talking to the guys.

Today I was able to glaze with our preschoolers. Did you know that Grace has a kiln? We do! Seeds of Grace and Grace purchased the kiln used two years ago for $50 dollars each. We use the kiln most often for 1st communion class and glazing chalices. But we also use this for Children and Youth crafts and now with our preschoolers. It is so fun to serve these children! As a called pastor at Grace, I am also called to serve our preschool and what a joy this is! What life they bring to our congregation, to our church, to our ministry! Jesus said “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.” -Matthew 19:14

Blessings

Grace Choir Rehearsals Tuesdays at 7:15pm

Grace Choir is starting up again! The choir rehearses on Tuesday evenings from 7:15-8:30pm and sings two Sundays each month. Anyone 7th grade and older are welcome to come and sing at any time! There is a schedule posted on the choir website with dates and what song we'll be singing, so if you see a song you like, come and join us! There is no audition, and all experience levels are welcome! We make wonderful music together and want to share that with you! Any questions, please contact David Phelps.

Thank You, Men's Ministry

Thank you all SO MUCH for volunteering to take part in the BBQ this evening over at Stepping Stone! It was fun to hang out and grill together, then serve a meal to the residents and even connect with some of them over dinner. The residents seemed to genuinely appreciate our meal and hospitality, and to know that others care about them. A special "THANK YOU" to the Men's Ministry team, for covering the cost of the food we served. It was so much appreciated! I hope we can do it again sometime and invite other guys at Grace to participate with us!

The Portables are Coming DOWN!

The sidewalks and portable #2 were demolished on August 28th! Today, August 29th, they are doing clean up and will begin demolishing portable #1. It has been wonderous to see everything coming together! Please spread the word of the transformation at Grace and the upcoming celebration on September 8th. And if you haven't seen things in a couple of weeks, come in and see the transformation. - Marie Kolar
