GRACE NOTES
November 24 - December 1, 2020
thanksgiving-bounty-header.jpg
In observance of Thanksgiving, the church office will be closed
Thursday, November 26 and Friday, November 27.
Grace continues offering in-person worship opportunities, including two worship services in the Sanctuary, while online worship services continue.

We appreciate your patience as we continue to discern a faithful, safe approach to in-person worship!

As we enter into a new liturgical year this Sunday, we are excited to share new opportunities for Holy Communion in the coming weeks.

For those who attend the in-person worship services, Communion will now be offered outside on the porch as everyone departs.

For those who are not yet attending worship in-person, Grace's pastors will be offering dedicated times to visit and provide the sacrament (outdoors only). Click on the following links to schedule some time for a pastor to visit you.

Click here for the weekly options, offered at 11am on Tuesdays and Thursdays in the coming months.

Click here for the 'flex' time slots, and a pastor will be in contact with you to schedule a time that works for everyone.

Grace Lutheran is proud to once again host the annual Angel Tree for the youth at the Market Place Apartments. This year will look a little different as we will use a virtual sign up in lieu of the paper angels. All of the information for each child can be found HERE.

The biggest need this year is winter accessories and outerwear, however surprises like toys and games are always appreciated.

All gifts need to be dropped off at Reynolds and Reynolds Printing (1330 W Main Street, Rock Hill) on either December 10 or 11 between 12:00pm-4:00pm. There will be a table inside the front door with a check off chart and hand sanitizer. Please make sure you include a label on the front, right hand corner of the gift with the child's name and age clearly marked so we can ensure each child receives the correct gift. There are 50 children on this year's list so please consider signing up and helping to make their Christmas a little brighter! For any questions you can contact Vivian Robinson at 803-417-4220 or click here to email

Toys for Tots - Cub Scouts Give Back
Grace's Cub Scout Pack is participating in this year's local Toys for Tots drive, and thought other members of our congregation might like to join in on the action, too.

If you have toys you would like to donate for this worthy cause, please contact Walker Stockley (click here for email), our Cub Scout Leader. The Pack will be gathering on the evening of December 3 to package the toys to be sent out, and will need any donations by December 2.

This week Bishop Eaton's brief message is reminder that while this holiday season will be different, we are all still together.
Meet our second Music Intern: Jonathan Moyd!

Hi, my name is Jonathan Moyd. I've been working with choirs for 13 years now and I'm looking forward to many more years of that. I'm a bass and I greatly enjoy teaching music to others. I also work for a mission group named Salkehatchie, every year we go to McCormick County to help rebuild and repair the homes that have broken down over the years and try to help the less fortunate among us.

Jonathan is a freshman at Winthrop University. We are glad to have him as part of the team here at Grace!
Men's Bible Study

Join us for a Men's Book Study on Sunday mornings at 9:30am via Zoom - note the new starting time!

Beginning Sunday, November 8, we will be studying "Unafraid " by Adam Hamilton. Each week we are led by a different member of our group of 'Men-in-Training' and the conversation has been meaningful. Those interested in participating should contact Pr. Gregg to get added to the Realm group where the meeting link is posted. There's always room for one more!
Offering Our Gifts to God - Monetary Offering

Part of our worship is offering our gifts to God. While we are apart, it is still faithful to offer our gifts. You can give in several ways:
  • Give online by clicking here (and you have the option to offset the cost of giving online)
  • Set up giving though your bank
  • Mail your offering to the church office.

Thank you for continued faithful giving!
Gifts & Talents Pictures

Our worship has been enhanced by your photos of projects, experiences, and joys - thank you for sharing! We would love to see more of what you're doing - please send photos to our Video Editor, Craig Allen by clicking here.
Taking Faith Home carries the previous Sunday's themes throughout the week. These devotions include daily Scripture readings, prayers, hymn suggestions, milestones, conversation starters, service opportunities, and at-home rituals.
