The monsoon rains have really helped the garden, producing herbs, zucchini, melons, mustard greens, corn.& flowers

The August edition of Lovin' Life, a Tucson lifestyle monthly, featured a beautiful article on Krishna Fest, our biggest celebration of the year.

Greetings, Dear Readers!

As you can see in the left column, August has given us an abundance of produce in our garden, plus an abundance of joy at our festivals.

By divine arrangement, the garden is locally renewable, but the best way to renew the supplies at our temple and boutique is to travel all the way to India and personally select the items. That's what I'll be doing soon, especially in Delhi, Vrindaban, and a lovely hill station called Shimla.

Since I'll be making that long journey this month and not returning till October 2nd, this newsletter's October issue will be a little late. Thank you for your kind patience, dear lucky, local readers!

A Recipe from Govinda's Kitchen:

Vegan Chocolate Mousse Pie

Everyone loves chocolate pie, but not everyone loves the dairy or extra fat that comes with it. At Govinda's we serve up a delicious, dairy-free pie packed with organic tofu and cashews. That means lots of anti-inflammatory protein for you regret-free! Try this recipe for one 9-inch pie. It's good, healthy fun.

Ingredients

In blender add:

1 cup raw cashews boiled in water for 5 mins

1/2 pack of silken organic tofu

1 12 oz can of coconut cream

1/2 cup raw sugar

3/4 cup of coco powder

1 Tblsp corn starch or tapioca flour

1 Tblsp vanilla

Procedure:

Pour into a premade crust such as a graham cracker crumb crust, or if you are adventurous, a homemade crust. Bake for 20 minutes at 350 degrees then chill. Top with whipping cream or nondairy topping..
