Good Morning Hello,

I am excited to reach out to our members with a government affairs update. You may have previously noted that the chapter's government affairs committee was in on-going conversations with state representatives on recent guidelines released by the Department of Community and Economic Development on Keystone Opportunity Zones.

NAIOP Greater Philadelphia was the first organization to learn of these new guidelines, and we partnered up with the Pittsburgh Chapter to tackle this critical real estate issue.

Together the Chapters engaged in discussions with the Commonwealth to express our concerns and provided DCED with a memo of concerns and recommendations on the guidelines. Over the weekend, we received their response:

DCED is in the process of pulling the guidelines which include the recent changes. They are reverting back to the previous guidelines until further internal discussion can occur.

The NAIOP Greater Philadelphia Government Affairs Committee (pictured below) will continue to monitor this issue, and ensure we are part of the ongoing conversation in representation for our members.

We will continue to keep you updated on any other news, as well as the progress on our continued efforts on creating impactful and effective legislation in Greater Philadelphia.

Sincerely,
Lauren Gilchrist
Chapter President
