Dear St. Bernard Residents,

We hope this email finds you well. As traffic has been a topic that has come up in many of our community conversations, we are proud to announce that the Louisiana Legislature committed $50 million to begin the St. Bernard Transportation Corridor project, which includes the planning, design and engineering for the roadway.

The St. Bernard Transportation Corridor will be an elevated roadway on the backside of the Forty Arpent Canal from the future Louisiana International Terminal in Violet to connect with I-510. The new roadway would be a separate, parallel project to the Louisiana International Terminal, and has Port NOLA's full support.

The St. Bernard Transportation Corridor project will provide multiple benefits, including a route to efficiently handle cargo entering and leaving the new terminal. This new infrastructure will also support St. Bernard Parish population growth, attract and retain industry, reduce emissions by alleviating congestion, and provide an alternate hurricane evacuation route for residents. To learn more about the corridor, click here.

LIT Online Open House

Did you miss our LIT open house series in March? Don’t worry. Our online open house is now available! Click below for an interactive online open house experience.

Visit the Online Open House

We recognize the importance of sharing information with the St. Bernard Parish community. Although nearly 200 people joined us in Chalmette, Violet, and Lower St. Bernard Parish, we understand that not everyone could attend the in-person open houses we hosted in March. That’s why we’ve created an online version of the events with the same information we presented in person. If you did attend the events in March, please pass the link along to someone you know who could not.

Community Connection Office Summer Hours

For the Summer season, we will have reduced hours at our Community Connection Office in Violet. We will be in office every Wednesday and Friday from 9 a.m.-4:30 p.m., and are available on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday by appointment. To make an appointment with our team, email us at litinfo@portnola.com.

As always, we are committed to working with you to design a project that brings opportunity for St. Bernard families and protects local quality of life. Learn more at YourWorkingRiver.com.

Sincerely,

The Team at the Port of New Orleans
