Dear Chantelle,

"We empower people to live happier, healthier lives through Oriental Medicine, nutrition, and healthy habits."

Ahhh, tis the season to be jolly... or is it? My patients have been telling me how much more stressed they are during the holidays, whether it's due to feeling overwhelmed with too much to do, financial stress, traveling, or getting triggered by certain people in their lives.

Acupuncture can help make this holiday more relaxing by lowering cortisol so you feel calm and centered. Remember, physiology is the foundation for how you respond in situations. I've included one of my favorite mentors, Mel Robbins, and her famous 5 second rule. This is a simple technique to help you pause and respond instead of reacting. I even have 54321 written on my mirror to remind me.

We will be here most of this month. Please schedule your acupuncture ahead so you can fortify yourself during this busy time.

Reduce your Cortisol with Acupuncture

Lowering cortisol levels is crucial for maintaining good health and well-being. Cortisol, a hormone produced in the adrenal glands, is vital for the stress response but can have adverse effects when elevated for long periods. High cortisol levels can lead to several health problems, including high blood pressure, increased heart rate, and weakened immune function. Here are five key reasons why reducing cortisol is important:

  1. Reduces Inflammation: Chronic stress keeps cortisol levels high for extended periods, leading to inflammation and various mental and physical health problems, such as anxiety, weight gain, and heart disease.
  2. Lowers Blood Pressure and Heart Rate: Elevated cortisol levels can cause high blood pressure and increased heart rate, contributing to cardiovascular problems.
