Planting Seeds of Hope in Worcester

A new garden is taking root in Worcester, Massachusetts. Sister Patty Butler, SNDdeN and Sister Paula Cormier, PBVM started the garden in April, inspired by the legacy of Sister Dorothy Stang, SNDdeN. The garden will allow community volunteers to recognize the gift of the soil and see the goodness of their efforts as the earth provides food for those in need.

Remembrances

Remembering Sister Teresita Weind, SNDdeN (1942 - 2024)

We mourn the passing of Sister Teresita Weind, SNDdeN who went home to her good God on April 28, 2024.

Sister Teresita was an impactful and charismatic leader who served on our Congregational Leadership Team from 2008 - 2022. She was the 19th Superior General of the Sisters of Notre Dame de Namur and a founding member of the National Black Sisters' Conference.

As the U.S. East-West Province Leadership Team has written, "In the name of all the East-West Sisters, Associates and Partners in Mission, we mourn the loss of a valiant woman and we celebrate that she is now in the embrace of our good God."

Work to improve biodiversity on campus is ongoing with newly planted maple trees, blueberry bushes, elderberry bushes, and a large variety of plants, with more on the way.
