Understanding the Affects of Rising Seas

The Underwater Project

On Friday March 1st, more than 80 students from Westpine Middle School learned from world-renowned climate artist Xavier Cortada in an interactive art workshop! Participants discovered the elevation of their neighborhoods as a step towards sparking conversations and creating art about climate action.

The school is also now home to the newest art mural in Sunrise, helping to bring awareness to "The Underwater" campaign and sea level rise. Thank you to the Xavier Cortada Foundation and Broward County Resilience for this opportunity!

Did you know? Sea levels could rise 7 feet by the end of the century.

The Underwater Project team will be at the Sunrise Earth Day Festival on Saturday, April 6, at Sawgrass Sanctuary (237 N. New River Cir.) from 10 am to 1 pm. Come out and learn more!
