New Beginnings - Remote Service

Due to the Winter Storm - Remote Service Only

Rev. Caro Barschow

This month’s service theme is the gift of liberating love. Love often prompts a new beginning. We begin with love when we look within, when we are in relationship and in our community. LOVE is at the center of a renewal of the principles of Unitarian Universalism. Join us on Zoom to begin a new year with your religious community.

**NOTE: the Love in Motion service schedule for 1/7 (with Guest Artist Jo-Mé Dance Theatre) has been cancelled due to the winter storm. The official date has been rescheduled for March 3rd. Please stay tuned for further announcements as we approach the date.**

Theologies of Liberation

Rev. Caro Barschow

In the 1950s and 1960s, a theological movement began among Latin American Catholic priests to address inequalities of class and race differences. It empowered people to work collectively for social and political freedom. Over the past 75 years, the notion of spiritual liberation and spiritual liberators has evolved and expanded. Explore the history and present, and consider the future possibilities, of theologies of liberation.

Martin Luther King Day

Danvers Celebration

Monday, January 15, 3-6pm

Danvers High School, 60 Cabot Rd.

This year's Danvers celebration of MLK Day will ask us to think about how we as community members move through our day to day lives as Martin Luther King, Jr. called us to and what are our visions for our town that build on the legacy Rev. King laid down for us.

At 3pm, an open house begins in the atrium of Danvers High School where attendees can tour a student art exhibit, take part in an interactive town art project, contribute to a King-sized vision wall, and discover opportunities for engagement in Danvers so that they can move like King through 2024.

At 5pm, celebrate with student musical performances and remarks, presentation of the inaugural "Seed of Hope" award, and snapshot narratives from five Danvers residents who will share how they are moving like Martin Luther King, Jr. through their life and work here.

COVID MESSAGE FROM THE BOARD

As we enter the winter months and face increasing incidence of Covid and other respiratory infections, the NSUU Board has reviewed church related safety policies and will continue to do so periodically. The Board is currently exploring options for air purifying equipment in the Sanctuary and Fellowship Hall as a mitigation measure to improve air flow and quality. We also urge anyone who is not feeling well in general to avoid in-person meetings or services and join in via Zoom if possible.

If you have tested positive for Covid or been exposed to someone who has, please consider following the current public health guidelines (click here to see more) which recommend a minimum of 5 days of isolation followed by 5 days of mask wearing if you test positive and 10 days of mask wearing if you've been exposed. Masks will continue to be available at the welcome desk. Please be respectful of varying levels of comfort regarding masking, touching, hugging and social distancing. Let us all do our part to keep each other safe. We wish good health to our members, staff and friends.
