"See what love
the Father has bestowed on us
that we may be called the children of God."
~ 1 John 3:1
Responding to the Call
Do we truly know the voice of Christ? Do we truly respond to the voice of our shepherd with our own distinctive voice? How often we attempt to imitate those around us, appropriating the response of another member of the flock to Christ. Perhaps we need to balance the image of being sheep of one flock with the image from the second reading, which tells us that we are all children of God. What child has precisely the same interaction with parents as his or her siblings? Instead, they frequently do and say things to distinguish themselves in the eyes of their parents.

Whether we use the image of children or of sheep to understand our relationship with Christ, we believe that we are all known and called by name. With this great gift comes a responsibility: to respond to the call with our own distinctive voice, to discern exactly what our call is, to determine precisely what the will of the Father is for each one of us.
OLBS new Music Director, Michael Hawes, in his own words. Michael will begin celebrating Mass with us this weekend, April 24-25 at the 5pm (SJE), 8am (QR) and 10:30am (QR) Masses and will rotate his schedule each week. One of Michael's favorite hymns is "How Can I Keep From Singing," also known as "My Life Flows On In Endless Song." Follow this link to hear Michael sing!

Season for Life
Spring, a season of renewal and hope, is adorned in the natural beauty of new life. God’s great creation bursts forth with the sights, smells and sounds of a world emerging from the slumber of winter. Green grass, flowering trees, chirping birds and gentle rains fill our senses and hearts with a great anticipation of good things to come.

In this spirit of renewal and hope, Our Lady of the Blessed Sacrament Respect Life Ministry invites us all to participate in a Season for Life.

We Can Be the Face of Hope
Eva is doing all she can to raise her grandchild alone on a limited income. She called Catholic Charities when she couldn’t afford to fix her plumbing. We made the home repair, and invited her to our caregiver support group. She was one of the 398,078 seniors we helped last year.

Please give to Catholic Charities on Mother’s Day to help seniors live in comfort. Learn more at www.catholiccharities.net.

May Summer Supper
Beginning in May we transition from Winter to Summer Suppers. On Thursday, May 6th, in addition to feeding guests who remain sheltered in local hotels, we will serve drive-through guests. Meals will be available to-go style in a contactless drive-through in the St. Julian parking lot.

Please follow this link to volunteer to cook, prep, serve or cleanup at the May Summer Supper.
Thanks for Helping Us Reach Our Goal
Our Annual Appeal goal this year was $65,828 and we just recently reached $66,340 in pledges. To date $57,342 of those pledges has been fulfilled, so we still have a little bit of work to do.

If you haven't made your contribution to this year's ACA, there's still time! Follow this link to support this year's Annual Catholic Appeal.

Please know of my deepest gratitude for your participation this year and in previous years! —Fr. Dan
School Report
Run, don't walk, to support QR School with a Track-A-Thon Sponsorship Opportunity!

One of the school's major fundraising events, QR School Track-A-Thon will take place on Friday, May 14th. The Track-A-Thon is a student-body and staff favorite and has become a highly-anticipated day of fun and celebration for the whole school. Students willingness to collect pledges beforehand and their enthusiasm on the track is a testament to their dedication to QR School. We invite you to consider supporting this event through a corporate sponsorship. All sponsors will receive recognition on participant t-shirts, event signage, QR School website and in the OLBS Parish bulletin.

Please contact Cheri Cage if you would like to learn more about becoming a sponsor.
RE Roundup
From the desks of Mrs. D, Director of Religious Education and Mrs. Uhlarik, Coordinator of Religious Education...

Please continue to keep our eighth graders in your prayers as they recently celebrated the sacrament of Confirmation. Also, our second graders continue to celebrate First Eucharist over the next couple of weeks.

We continue to wish all of our OLBS family a peaceful and blessed Easter season. Stay tuned for information on May Crowning and Summer enrichment activities!
