PALM SUNDAY GUEST
Please warmly welcome the Rev. Susie Shaefer who will lead us in worship on Palm Sunday. Susie worked with Anthony on the Bishop's Search Committee and oversaw Rob's ordination process as chair of the Commission on Ministry. She pastored St. John's Clinton for many years and recently has joined the Bishop's staff as the Associate for Transitions and Local Formation. I'm confident she will feel at home here!

CRAFT FAIR
Vendors and crafters offered their items last Saturday for an important fundraiser for our operating expenses. Many thanks to all who made crafts, baked goods, sold raffle tickets, and shopped to make this event such a success!
Special round of applause to our chairs, Claudia and Hope and to all who voluenteered. Well done!

LENT - our 40 days of renewal come to a close.
We fast, we give, and we pray as ways to grow in holiness. These disciplines help us grow closer to God and closer to our neighbor.
-
Bring your offering box this week with a donation to help the Episcopal Relief assistance program.
- Bring a can of soup or some toilet paper to help re-stock our Paper and Food Pantry to support our struggling neighbors.
We PRAY, FAST and GIVE this Lent!

A Holy Week Prayer Devotion
You Can Experience at Home
Meditate on the
Stations of the Cross
TAKE 25 MINUTES TO PRAY
Some things you might consider:
Imagine yourself as a bystander. Where do you find yourself along this path - next to Jesus, beside a soldier, surrounded by the crowd?
Hit the pause button between stations and ask yourself - what did you notice or feel or hear?
When in your life did you experience that burden or emotion?
What would you say to ________? Imagine a conversation with Mary, or John, or Pilate, or some other person.
Reflect on the image of death and resurrection. When have you experienced this in your life?
Then He came to the disciples and found them sleeping, and said to Peter, “So, could you not keep watch with Me one hour? Matt 26:40

Casey Presented Her Work
We heard a summary of all the work Casey Lee has been doing as she interned with us this academic year. She has been an integral part of the Social Development Coalition as we identify social services that can help our neighbors in need. We wish her well as she graduates and goes on to continue her good work for the well-being of so many others!
We need to continue her work surveying the city's residents to determine their areas of need. Can you offer to help Paula at each of our upcoming events? I could use a couple folks with me at Cinco de Mayo on April 30!

WALK WITH JESUS THIS HOLY WEEK
Palm Sunday - 10:30 a.m. April 10
We gather in the church, hear the story of Jesus' triumphal entry into Jerusalem, then process with our blessed palms around the church. Our liturgy continues with your participation in the reading of Luke's Passion narrative and the sharing of Holy Communion.
Maundy Thursday - 6:30 p.m. April 14
We follow the mandate of Jesus, to serve one another. Jesus gave the example by washing his disciples' feet. It was a duty that a servant did when guests came to one's home. No task, therefore, is beneath us when we do what Jesus has done.
Eucharist is celebrated within the context of a supper in the undercroft. Afterwards we silently process with candles to the church where we spend some time with Jesus as he did in the garden.
Good Friday - 7:00 p.m. April 15
We will recall the suffering as Jesus walked his way to Calvary. A dramatic reading with song will be presented by our choir called Colors of Grace. We will close with the traditional sharing of Communion.
Invite a friend to any or all of our Holy Week and Easter celebrations!

Bishop Bonnie is leading a group to lobby in Lansing
From big cities like Detroit to small towns like Oxford, gun violence is impacting all of our communities. Yet, for too long, the legislature has refused to take action to protect our children and communities.
The legislature is now at least discussing gun measures through a task force. End Gun Violence Michigan is hosting a lobby day on April 13 to make sure that the politicians know where we stand. It's time for them to hear from us about the urgent need for safe storage, universal background checks, and banning guns at government buildings.
This is an important step. We want to make sure that we exhaust every last conversation with the legislature before we decide to launch a ballot initiative.
Sign up, and you'll receive training on how to talk about the issues and share your story with your representative.
Don't worry, you won't be alone either-- we'll match you with a team of leaders to handle the meeting together. We'll handle logistics and make sure that everyone has a great experience.
Training will be held virtually the evening of April 7. (You will receive more information on this after you sign up.)
The BEST way to participate is to be in Lansing on Wednedsay April 13 from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.. But we know that not everyone is ready to be in person or able to travel. So you can attend meetings via Zoom as well.
Meetings will typically take place for 30-45 minutes throughout the day.
Or you can join Paula+ at the Cathedral on the 13th to hold those Lobbing in prayer.

Paula Ponders
Jesus triumphantly enters Jerusalem only to experience a fickle crowd as the week progresses. Yet, the shouts of Hosanna! or Crucify Him! never sway him from his identity as the beloved child of God. Jesus walks his way from the joyful gates of the city, to the upper room, to the betrayal in the garden and finally to the hill of Calvary. We, too, walk our own way with our own cross - knowing that for Jesus and for us it doesn't end in sorrow and death.
See you in church!
