Good News Family & Friends,

If you've got kids in school, you know how crazy the month of May can be, but we're almost to the finish line! We'd love to recognize all of our graduates this Sunday, so if you have a high school or college graduate, let Laura know at laura@goodnewschurchga.com or 770-364-4143.

Good News At Noon" Homeless Ministry - THIS Saturday, May 18 (11am - 1pm)

Good News at Noon is a local homeless ministry in the Gainesville area where we serve monthly by helping to serve lunch on the 3rd Saturday each month. This is a fantastic family serving opportunity! For more information or if you'd like to join us, be sure to register here. NOTE: The start time is now 11am. We will also be serving lunch at the homeless shelter across the street from Good News at Noon, so there's plenty of need for volunteers.

INSPIRATION

Quotes of the Week

“Kid, you’ll move mountains! Today is your day! Your mountain is waiting. So get on your way!” - Dr. Suess (from "Oh, the Places You'll Go!")

Verse of the Week

"My son, do not forget my teaching,  but keep my commands in your heart, for they will prolong your life many years  and bring you peace and prosperity. Let love and faithfulness never leave you;  bind them around your neck,  write them on the tablet of your heart. Then you will win favor and a good name  in the sight of God and man. Trust in the Lord with all your heart  and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him,  and he will make your paths straight. Do not be wise in your own eyes;  fear the Lord and shun evil. This will bring health to your body  and nourishment to your bones." - Proverbs 3:1-8

VISION & VALUES

The vision of Good News Church GA is "to experience and express LOVE from God to others." The verse that undergirds our vision is Galatians 5:5b, “The only thing that counts is faith expressing itself through love.” We value people, community, relationships, prayer, and Bible reading. We also value being able to be yourself. We’re all struggling with something, so there’s no need to pretend that we have it all together.

MISSION

The mission of Good News Church GA is "to connect with people and build relationships through community workshops, neighborhood-focused ministry, serving local needs, mentoring, and worship."

BIBLE READING RESOURCES

We've been emphasizing the importance (and fun) of mining for gold (i.e., spending time each day digging into God's Word and discovering the nugget(s) of gold that He has waiting for us. Here are a few of my most recommended resources. NOTE: If you're not much of a reader, many of these resources have audio listening options and/or downloadable audio books.
