Good Neighbor Day Highlights | |
AND THE GOOD NEIGHBOR WINNER IS...
Thank you so much for your submissions. It's encouraging to hear about so many AMAZING neighbors who exemplify what it means to be a good neighbor. One person who stood out was Sarah Norris. Her neighbor Lisa had this to say about Sarah:
"Sarah has done airport pickups for us and driven us to church several times. She took time off to help her mom recover from surgery. Sarah recently had a birthday and decided to celebrate by having a volunteer birthday party at St Mary's food bank. She also volunteers at CCV Avondale in the café, that's how we met. She is a sister and a beloved aunt to her young nephew and of course, a great neighbor!"
Congratulations to both Sarah and Lisa! For your nomination and for being a good neighbor, you've both won gift cards to Acai Republic in Goodyear.
And speaking of Acai Republic, we joined them to see how they celebrate National Good Neighbor Day....

OCTOBER IS MENTAL HEALTH AWARENESS MONTH
The City has entered into a contract with Trauma Recovery Services of Arizona (TRSAZ) to cover the out-of-pocket expenses for an estimated 300 unduplicated, qualifying Goodyear residents, age 13 and up, to receive evidence-based and trauma-informed mental health services.
TRSAZ provides a variety of services such as adolescent and individual psychotherapy, including eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR), family and couple’s therapy, certified peer support services, and group counseling. All services will be offered virtually via a HIPAA-compliant portal, with evening and weekend appointments available to make accessing care convenient for residents.
Individuals who are either uninsured, underinsured, or otherwise lack the financial means to pay fees such as co-payments and deductibles will be screened for eligibility to receive financial assistance through this pilot program. Depending upon income, financial assistance is limited to a maximum of four to 10 sessions in a 12-month period.

-
Confirm you items are eligible from the articles featured in the March edition of InFocus (p.8-9).
-
Register from Oct. 2 through Oct. 13 on the Goodyear website.
-
Set your HHW items out on October 16.
Pro Tip: Never put rechargeable batteries in the trash. When compacted, they can rupture and explode. Safely dispose of these batteries by using the HHW program.
