Did You Know?

NEW NON-EMERGENCY PHONE TREE

Did you know Goodyear Police Dispatchers received more than 8000 non-emergency calls for service in May of this year? That's in addition to the more than 4000, 9-1-1 calls that were also received! In order to provide faster emergency response to our residents and alleviate the growing number of administrative calls, Goodyear Police have installed a new automated call tree on the non-emergency line, (623) 932-1220.

Now, when residents call this number, your options will be:

  • Press 1 to be connected with Records
  • Press 2 for Vehicle Impounds
  • Press 3 for Property & Evidence
  • Press 4 if you have a case number and need to speak with Detectives
  • Press 5 if you need to file a report and/or speak with Dispatch
  • Press 9 for Spanish

Again, this call-tree is only for the non-emergency phone line. If you have a life-threatening emergency, call 9-1-1 and you will immediately be connected with police dispatch. Learn more about the Goodyear Police Telecommunication Department here.

  • If you can’t attend in person, we plan to offer a Zoom virtual option as well. Incentives only available to in-person attendees.

  • There’s a new water efficiency rebate in town! Replace your inefficient showerhead (2.0 gal/min+) with an efficient one (1.8 gal/min or less) and receive $25 incentive gift card! See the terms and steps here.

Faith and Community Roundtable

The FCRT is held the second Tuesday of each month and agencies are chosen at random to have their information provided to Goodyear residents. These agencies serve Goodyear residents and are providing a valuable service to our community.

INTRODUCING GOODYEAR'S MENTAL HEALTH PILOT PROGRAM

Using one-time funds approved in the FY23 budget, the City is launching a pilot program intended to improve mental health outcomes for Goodyear residents by increasing access to mental health and/or substance misuse services.

The City has entered into a contract with Trauma Recovery Services of Arizona (TRSAZ) to cover the out-of-pocket expenses for an estimated 300 unduplicated, qualifying Goodyear residents, age 13 and up, to receive evidence-based and trauma-informed mental health services.

TRSAZ provides a variety of services such as adolescent and individual psychotherapy, including eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR), family and couple’s therapy, certified peer support services, and group counseling. All services will be offered virtually via a HIPAA-compliant portal, with evening and weekend appointments available to make accessing care convenient for residents.

Individuals who are either uninsured, underinsured, or otherwise lack the financial means to pay fees such as co-payments and deductibles will be screened for eligibility to receive financial assistance through this pilot program. Depending upon income, financial assistance is limited to a maximum of four to 10 sessions in a 12-month period.

The program is also intended to raise awareness about mental health and the availability of services among the general public.
